US streamer Peacock has ordered a new mockumentary series set in the world of The Office, this time following the staff of a Midwestern newspaper.

The as-yet untitled series comes from Greg Daniels, who adapted The Office (pictured top) from the BBC series of the same name for NBC, and Nathan for You co-creator Michael Koman.

Domhnall Gleeson (About Time, Ex-Machina) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) will head the cast when the series begins production in July.

This time, the documentary crew that immortalised Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch is in search of a new subject when they discover a dying historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it with volunteer reporters.

The series is produced by Universal Television. It is is executive produced by Daniels and Koman along with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman and Banijay Americas (formerly Reveille).
