Channel 5 books new trip with The Good Ship Murder

Channel 5 has booked a return trip on The Good Ship Murder, ordering two more seasons of the crime drama and a Christmas special.

Produced by Clapperboard, in association with distributor Fifth Season, there is the promise of more sun, sea and sinister plots as cabaret singer-turned-detective Jack Grayling (Shayne Ward) and fiercely ambitious First Officer Kate Woods (Catherine Tyldesley) return for more adventures, solving murder mysteries against the backdrop of the Mediterranean.

Cruise Director Beverley Carnell (Claire Sweeney) also returns, alongside new character Colin Smallwood (Ross Adams). A host of guest stars will also join the voyage.

The two new eight-part seasons are executive produced by Mike Benson, Andy Morgan and Paul Matthew Thompson, with Jonathan Phillips producing. Steve Hughes returns as director, and is joined by Merlyn Rice.
