Sky, Peacock preview The Day of the Jackal

TRAILER: Sky and US streamer Peacock have released the trailer for The Day of the Jackal, a 10-part series starring Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch and Úrsula Corberó. It launches in the UK on Sky Atlantic on November 7 and the US on November 14.

An unrivalled and highly elusive lone assassin, the Jackal (Redmayne) makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.

Corberó (Money Heist) also stars as Nuria, someone at the heart of The Jackal’s personal life, unaware of who he truly is.

The cast also includes Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) as Timothy Winthrop, Richard Dormer (Blue Lights) as Norman, Chukwudi Iwuji (The Split) as Osita Halcrow, Lia Williams (The Capture) as Isabel Kirby, Khalid Abdalla (The Crown) as Ulle Dag Charles,  Eleanor Matsuura (The Walking Dead) as Zina Jansone, Jonjo O’Neill (Andor) as Edward Carver, Nick Blood (Slow Horses) as Vince, Sule Rimi (Classified) as Paul Pullman and Florisa Kamara (Eastenders) as Jasmin Pullman.

The series is based on the novel by Frederick Forsyth and the award-winning 1973 film from Universal Pictures. It is produced by Carnival Films.

It is written and adapted by Ronan Bennett (Top Boy), while Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones, Luther, Boardwalk Empire) is the lead director.

Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant are executive producers for Carnival Films. Redmayne is also an executive producer, and Lynch a co-executive producer on the project. Sam Hoyle is the executive producer for Sky Studios. Sue Naegle is executive producer and Marianne Buckland is co-executive producer. Christopher Hall is the producer and Emily Shapland is coproducer. Frederick Forsyth is the consulting producer.
