FIRST LOOK: Filming has wrapped on Cleddau, a Welsh language series starring Elen Rhys (The Mallorca Files) and Richard Harrington (Hinterland) that will debut on S4C in October.

Shot in Pembrokeshire, the emotionally charged, psychological thriller sees DI Ffion Lloyd (Rhys) partnering up with her ex-lover DS Rick Walters (Harrington) to find out who is responsible for murdering a nurse in a Welsh coastal town.

The series marks Rhys’ return to Welsh TV in her first major role in her mother tongue.

It also stars Rhian Blythe as Helen Sheldon, Ioan Hefin as DCI Alan Vaughan, Aled Pugh as DS Celyn Howells, Mali Ann Rees as DC ‘Mogsy’ Morgan, Will Thomas as Griff Lloyd, Sharon Morgan as Delyth Lloyd and Hannah Daniel as Lisa Redwood.

Written by Cath Tregenna (read DQ’s interview with her about the series here), it is produced by Blacklight and distributed by Banijay Rights. Banijay Rights will also be shopping an English language version called The One That Got Away that was filmed back-to-back with the Welsh version.
