Paramount+ brings on Little Disasters
TRAILER: Diane Kruger, Jo Joyner, Emily Taaffe and Shelley Conn star in Little Disasters, a Paramount+ series based on Sarah Vaughan’s novel of the same name that will debut in the UK & Ireland on May 22.
A complex psychological thriller with a mystery at its heart, the series centres on the friendship between Jess (Kruger), Liz (Joyner), Mel (Taaffe) and Charlotte (Conn), four mothers who met 10 years earlier in an antenatal class, with little in common apart from their due dates. They have since formed lasting friendships and supported each other through motherhood, until now.
When seemingly perfect stay-at-home mother Jess brings her baby daughter Betsy to the hospital with a head injury she can’t explain, her close friend and on-duty A&E doctor Liz must make the excruciating decision of whether to call social services.
The consequences of Liz’s decision to report Jess to social services then sets a chain of events in motion, rippling, fracturing and nearly destroying not only their families but their entire friendship group.
Little Disasters is produced by Roughcut Television, with Fremantle handling global sales.
Ruth Fowler and Amanda Duke adapted the series for the screen with Roughcut Television executive producers Ash Atalla, Alex Smith and Marianna Abbotts on board alongside Sarah Vaughan. Simon Judd executive produces for Fremantle, Eva Sigurdardottir is the director and Myf Hopkins is the producer.
