Netflix takes Pride & Prejudice
FIRST LOOK: Emma Corrin, Freya Mavor, Olivia Colman, Hopey Parish, Rhea Norwood and Hollie Avery (L-R) are pictured for the first time in Pride & Prejudice, a new adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel coming soon to Netflix.
Production is now underway on the six-part series, which is written by Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper).
Described as a faithful, classic adaptation of the novel, it stars Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as Mr Darcy. Colman plays Mrs Bennet.
Rufus Sewell will star as Mr Bennet. Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet alongside Norwood as Lydia and newcomers Avery and Parish in their debut roles of Kitty and Mary. Louis Partridge will take on Mr Darcy’s nemesis Mr Wickham, with Jamie Demetriou as the pompous Mr Collins and Fiona Shaw as the fearsome Lady Catherine de Bourg.
Daryl McCormack will be Mr Bingley and Siena Kelly is Caroline Bingley.
The cast also includes Anjana Vasan as Mrs Gardiner, Sebastian Armesto as Mr Gardiner, Rosie Cavaliero as Lady Lucas, Saffron Coomber as Mrs Hurst, James Dryden as Mr Hurst, Justin Edwards as Sir William Lucas, James Northcote as Colonel Forster, Eloise Webb as Harriet Forster and Isabella Sermon as Georgiana Darcy
Executive producers are Laura Lankester, Will Johnston and Louise Mutter for Lookout Point, as well as Alderton and Lyn. Corrin is also an executive producer for the first time. The producer is Lisa Osborne.
