Katherine Kelly is In Flight for Channel 4

FIRST LOOK: Katherine Kelly plays a flight attendant caught up in a drug smuggling operation in six-part drama In Flight, coming to Channel 4 in the UK later this year.

Kelly (Mr Bates vs The Post Office) plays single mum and flight attendant Jo Conran, whose life is turned upside down when she is blackmailed into drug smuggling after her son is imprisoned in Bulgaria for a murder he swears he did not commit.

Ensnared in the murky underworld of corruption and hired killers, she is forced to carry out their orders while desperately trying to find a way out. She turns to her ex, Dom, for help, but no matter how far Jo finds herself from her old life, her mission remains the same, to keep her son alive.

Stuart Martin (Rebel Moon) also stars as Cormac, a member of the criminal gang that coerces Jo into using her job to smuggle drugs, with Ashley Thomas (Them) as Jo’s ex, customs officer Dom.

The ensemble cast also includes Bronagh Waugh as Melanie, Harry Cadby as
Sonny, Corinna Brown as Kayla and Ambreen Razia as Zara.

Set across Bangkok, Bulgaria, Istanbul and London, filming took place in Belfast earlier this year.

In Flight is produced by Buccaneer Media (The Crow Girl, Marcella), and written and co-created by Mike Walden (Marcella, Whitstable Pearl) and Adam Randall (Slow Horses, iBoy). The producer is Brendan Mullin (Wreck, Dalgliesh) and the director is Chris Baugh (Wreck, Tin Star).

ProSieben have pre-bought the series for Germany along with SBS for Australia
and TVNZ for New Zealand. Fremantle is handling global sales.
