Jake Gyllenhaal is Presumed Innocent for Apple TV+

FIRST LOOK: Jake Gyllenhaal takes the lead in Presumed Innocent, a legal thriller coming to Apple TV+ in June.

The eight-episode limited series comes from David E Kelley and executive producer JJ Abrams, and is based on the novel of the same name by Scott Turow.

Gyllenhaal, who is also an executive producer, stars as chief deputy prosecutor Rusty Sabich, in a series about a horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office when one of its own is suspected of the crime.

The series explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together.

The cast also includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle and Renate Reinsve.

It will launch on June 14.
