It Gets Worse for Channel 4, Crave
FIRST LOOK: Emily Fairn and Olive Gray join Leo Reich in It Gets Worse, a comedy about three friends trying to overcome the challenges of post-university life that is coming to Channel 4 in the UK and Canada’s Crave.
It Gets Worse follows Ethan (Reich), Abi (Fairn) and Sam (Gray). Best friends from uni, soulmates for life, and dysfunctional roommates. It’s been a year since they finally managed to move to London, they have collectively accomplished nothing, and now their landlord is selling up. They’re getting kicked out. What now? Can they keep their friendships alive when they are dispersed across a city that seems to want them dead? Can they find a six out of ten or higher to have bad sex with? Can they get their shit together when the world is so obviously falling apart? Probably not. But they’re going to have fun trying.
Filming is underway on the series, which is created and written by Reich. Sean Delaney, Dane Williams, India Mullen and John Tothill also star, while the ensemble includes Andrew Scott, Arian Nik, Lena Dunham, Safia Oakley-Green, Blake Harrison, Nicole Sadie Sawyerr, Phil Zimmerman, Billy Rilot, Kirsty Bloom, Babymorocco Clayton Pettet, Luca Kamleh-Chapman, Vicki Pepperdine, Amelia Dimoldenberg and introducing Emmeline Downie.
The six-part series is produced by A24 for Channel 4 and Crave in Canada. Sam Pinnell (Trying, Motherland, Derry Girls) is the producer and the series is directed by Mounia Akl (House of Guinness, The Responder, Boiling Point). Matthew Lewis (Adolescence) is the director of photography.
It Gets Worse will air on Channel 4 next year.
