TRAILER: Here’s Dionne Brown as Queenie, the titular character in a series based on Candice Carty-Williams’ novel of the same name. It debuts in the US on Hulu on June 7.

Queenie Jenkins is a 25-year-old Jamaican British woman living in south London, straddling two cultures and slotting neatly into neither. After a messy breakup with her long-term boyfriend, Queenie seeks comfort in all the wrong places and begins to realise she has to face the past head-on before she can rebuild.

The cast also includes Bellah as Kyazike and Samuel Adewunmi as Frank.

The six-part series is created by Carty-Williams, who is the showrunner and executive produces with Further South’s Steve November and Sarah Conroy, with Lisa Walters as co-executive producer and series producer.

The series is produced by Further South Productions in association with Lionsgate TV.

Queenie premieres in the US on Hulu on June 7. It will also air on Channel 4 in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and will stream on Star+ in Latin America and and Disney+ in all other territories.
