Don Gilet finds Death in Paradise
FIRST LOOK: Sherwood and EastEnders star Don Gilet takes the lead in Death in Paradise, and will make his debut in a feature-length Christmas special later this year.
Gilet will play DI Mervin Wilson in the special, where Mervin arrives on the idyllic isle of Saint Marie from his home in London. While assisting with a case following a short trip, the team discover Mervin may have an ulterior motive for being on the island. A full new season will then land in 2025.
Filming on the Christmas special and new season has wrapped in Guadeloupe, which will also see Death in Paradise regulars Don Warrington, Shantol Jackson, Ginny Holder, Élizabeth Bourgine and Danny John-Jules all returning.
Gilet previously appeared in Death in Paradise’s fourth season episode Stab in the Dark, when Kris Marshall played the lead detective, DI Humphrey Goodman.
Now entering its 14th year, Death in Paradise is a Red Planet Pictures production for the BBC. The feature-length Christmas special and 2025 season will be executive produced by Tim Key and Amy Rodriguez for Red Planet Pictures and Danielle Scott-Haughton for the BBC, and series produced by Sue Howells.
BBC Studios distributes the series, which also airs on BritBox in North America and in Australia.
