Channel 4 identifies new Suspect
TRAILER: Anne-Marie Duff and Dominic Cooper star in the second season of Channel 4 drama Suspect, which will air in the UK this summer.
Produced by Eagle Eye Drama (The Couple Next Door, Professor T), it is also due to launch on Britbox International in the US and Canada this autumn.
The second season picks up where the first left off, with Dr Susannah Newman (Duff) on a quest to find the truth about her daughter’s tragic death. When a mysterious new client Jon (Cooper) makes a disturbing confession under hypnosis, Susannah is forced to embark on her own deadly mission to save a life, the way she couldn’t do with her own daughter…
The cast also includes Ben Miller as Detective Superintendent Richard Groves, Tamsin Greig as Natasha Groves, Vinette Robinson as Louisa McAdams, Eddie Marsan as Alistair Underwood, Celine Buckens as Sapphire, Nicholas Pinnock as Joseph Buckley and Gina McKee as Kate.
The second season of Suspect is directed by Carolina Giammetta (Before We Die, Hollington Drive) and has been written by Joy Wilkinson (Eps 1-4 and Ep8) and David Allison (Eps 5-7). Fremantle handle global sales for the series.
Suspect is adapted from the Danish series Forhøret (Face to Face), created by Christoffer Boe and written by Boe and Anna Juul. The original series was produced by Miso Film and executive produced by Christoffer Boe, Jonas Allen and Peter Bose, who are also executive producers on Suspect.
