First Look

FIRST LOOK: Gabrielle Creevy, Eve Myles, Sion Daniel Young and Emun Elliott star in The Guest, a four-part thriller debuting on the BBC this autumn.

The Guest is described as a fast-paced story that centres on the toxic and beguiling relationship between a successful business owner, Fran (Myles), and her employee, Ria (Creevy).

Ria has never had the time or opportunity to think about what she might actually want from the world. So when she starts cleaning for Fran, she’s intoxicated by this confident and self-assured woman who encourages her to take control of her life, and when Ria flourishes, an intense friendship is forged. However, when Fran’s advice leads to a shocking event, the lives of these two very different women become intertwined by shared secrets and dangerous plots.

The Guest is created and written by Matthew Barry (Men Up), who is also an executive producer. Davina Earl (Men Up, The Red King) and Nicola Shindler (Fool Me Once, After the Flood) are executive producers for Quay Street Productions, with Rebecca Ferguson and Nick Andrews for the BBC.

Ashley Way (Men Up, Who is Erin Carter?) is executive producer and will direct all four episodes, with Karen Lewis (Happy Valley, Men Up) producing.

Distributed by ITV Studios, The Guest will air this autumn on BBC iPlayer, BBC One and BBC One Wales.
