BBC, RTÉ tell Tall Tales & Murder
FIRST LOOK: Ella Lily Hyland, Aidan Gillen, Philippa Dunne and Packy Lee star in BBC and RTÉ series Tall Tales & Murder, which is due to debut later this year.
The darkly funny crime drama is written by Stuart Carolan and based on the eight-book Dublin Trilogy by Caimh McDonnell, which introduces Dublin’s unlikeliest detectives. Carolan created the series with Chris Addison.

Tall Tales & Murder is produced by Avalon (Breeders, Starstruck, Catastrophe) for BBC Northern Ireland and Ireland’s RTÉ, in association with Ireland-based Metropolitan Pictures (Kin).
It is executive produced by Chris Addison, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, Stuart Carolan and Jon Thoday for Avalon, with David McLoughlin, and Catherine Tiernan for Metropolitan Pictures.
The series is distributed by Avalon, which has sold the show to ZDF in Germany and SBS in Australia.
Filming on the six-part season one wrapped in January in the Republic of Ireland. It is set to premiere in late 2026. A second season has already been commissioned.
