BBC picks Wild Cherry
TRAILER: Eve Best, Carmen Ejogo, Imogen Faires and Amelia May star in Wild Cherry, the new drama from Bafta-winning Mood creator Nicôle Lecky that debuts on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Saturday, November 15. Watch the trailer now.
Created and written by Lecky, the series is set in Richford Lake, where things appear perfect for super-mum Juliet (Eve Best) and business mogul Lorna (Ejogo), but when their teens Grace (Faires) and Allegra (May) are accused of a shocking scandal at their exclusive private school, toxic secrets and lies ripple throughout the community.
A coming-of-age drama for both mothers and daughters as they navigate privilege, power and social media, the six-part series is written by Lecky, who also stars in the series. Toby MacDonald (Extraordinary) is the director.
The executive producers are Elizabeth Kilgarriff and Craig Holleworth for producer Firebird Pictures, Lisa Walters, Lecky, Macdonald, and Lucy Richer for the BBC. The producer is Ado Yoshizaki Cassuto.
BBC Studios is handling global sales.
All episodes of Wild Cherry will be available to watch on Saturday, November 15 on BBC iPlayer from 6am, and episodes one and two will premiere on BBC One from 9pm.
