BBC heads to The Jetty
FIRST LOOK: Here are new photos of Jenna Coleman in four-part mystery thriller The Jetty, coming soon to BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
Filming has now wrapped on the series, which is set in an eerie lakeside town where an arson, a missing persons cold case and an illicit triangle are intricately intertwined.
When a fire tears through a property in a scenic Lancashire lake town, Detective Ember Manning (Coleman) must work out how it connects to a podcast journalist investigating a missing persons cold case and an illicit ‘love’ triangle between a man in his twenties and two underage girls.
But as Ember gets close to the truth, it threatens to destroy her life – forcing her to re-evaluate everything she thought she knew about her past, present and the town she’s always called home.
Part coming-of-age story, part detective thriller, The Jetty examines themes including sexual morality, the age of consent, grooming, identity and memory.
Tom Glynn-Carney, Ruby Stokes, Archie Renaux, Laura Marcus, Bo Bragason, Weruche Opia and Amelia Bullmore are pictured alongside Coleman. The series also stars Matthew McNulty, Ralph Ineson, David Ajala, Nina Barker-Francis, Miya Ocego, Elliot Cowan, Shannon Watson, Arthur Hughes, Dominic Coleman and Ruaridh Mollica.
Written and created by Cat Jones, The Jetty is made by Firebird Pictures and directed by Marialy Rivas (Young & Wild), and produced by Natasha Romaniuk. The executive producers are Elizabeth Kilgarriff, Cat Jones, Sarah Wyatt, Marialy Rivas, Jenna Coleman and Jo McClellan for the BBC.
BBC Studios are the international distributors of the series.
