TRAILER: Siobhán Cullen and Paapa Essiedu star in Babies, the story of a resilient couple navigating the heartbreak of pregnancy loss coming to the BBC this month.

Lisa (Cullen) and Stephen (Essiedu) are a couple in their 30s whose dream of becoming parents is tested as they endure multiple miscarriages. While confronting unimaginable grief, their bond shines through with humour, warmth, and unwavering commitment. The newly released trailer offers a first glimpse of their intimate, raw and quietly powerful story.

Charlotte Riley and Jack Bannon also star as Amanda and Dave – a new couple navigating their own challenges and testing their compatibility. Their complex relationship, set against Lisa and Stephen’s ongoing pregnancy journey, begins to expose cracks in Stephen and Dave’s long-standing friendship.

Created, written and directed by Stefan Golaszewski (Mum, Marriage), Babies is produced by Snowed-In Productions and The Money Men Studios, in association with distributor All3Media International.

Golaszewski is also an executive producer alongside Ruth Kenley-Letts (Joan, Strike) for Snowed-In Productions, Neil Blair (Fantastic Beasts, Strike) and Richard Laxton (Joan, Rain Dogs). Danielle Scott-Haughton was the executive producer for the BBC. It is series produced by Lyndsay Robinson (Mum, Marriage), with Kelly Duffell (Aftersun, Black Mirror) as producer.

All episodes of Babies will be available on BBC iPlayer from 6am on Monday, March 30, with the series airing on BBC One from 9pm that night.
